Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften e.V. (hereinafter referred to as the operator) is committed to protecting your personal data. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this Privacy Policy.

You can normally use our website without having to provide personal data. In as far as personal data (e.g. name, address or e‑mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always carried out as far as possible on a voluntary basis. Such data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

Please note that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. communication by e‑mail) can be subject to security vulnerabilities. It is not possible to fully protect data against access by third parties.

Contact form

If you send us queries using the contact form, we will store your details from the query form along with the contact data provided by you for the purpose of processing your query and in the event of any follow-up questions. We will not disclose this data to third parties without your consent.


Newsletter registration

If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we will require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e‑mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No other data will be collected.

We use this data exclusively to send you the requested information and we will not pass this data on to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, e‑mail address and their use in order to send the newsletter at any time, for example, using the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter.



This website uses the open source web analysis service Matomo. Matomo uses so-called ‘cookies’ which are text files that are stored on your computer and enable your usage of the website to be analysed. For this purpose, the information about the use of this website provided by the cookie is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymized before storage.

The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website will not be disclosed to third parties. You can prevent the storage of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser software. Please note, however, that you may then be unable to use all functions of this website.

The addresses for sending the tickets ordered online by post are collected by the agency LoeschHundLiepold Kommunikation GmbH commissioned by LNDW e.V. which will also store and process this data on LNDW’s server.


SSL encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and in order to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as the website operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from ‘http://’ to ‘https://’ and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

You have the right to obtain at any time – and free of charge – information regarding your personal data stored, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification, blocking or erasure of this data.
