How brain and heart defects develop

Our research focuses on developmental disorders affecting the brain, face and heart, as these are the leading causes of infant disability and mortality. We investigate how regulatory mechanisms during development influence the fate and migration of cells. Our approach combines mouse genetics, transcriptomic and proteomic analyses, and organoids derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells. We aim to better understand how our bodies develop in health and disease and to support strategies to repair tissue damage.
