A Gate to the History of Your Own Neighbourhood
The history of one’s neighbourhood is history, too! But how do you research it and what can you find out in doing so? Students in the Public History programme demonstrate this using Berlin's Torstraße as a case study. Having been renamed several times, it symbolises the German history of the 2th century with its many ruptures. It also shows the close connection between the national and local history.
